Liza Diaz | Handmade Wedding Dress

Liza designed my wedding dress for my wedding in August 2019. It was absolutely stunning and Liza was such a pleasure to work with. It was so easy to make appointments with her and she had my dress done well in advance of the big day.When we went to the fabric store together to pick out fabric for this dress,s he was so excited it was contagious! She truly loves her craft and it shows in her work. The detailed lace and buttons on the back of my dress were absolutely perfectly executed. My dress had pockets and was comfortable to wear all night. I love to dance, so this was a must for me!I was also amazed by the value I got for the price. Definitely recommend trying Liza. Not only is she an amazing designer, you are supporting a local designer when you choose Liza. I cannot say enough good things about her!

I hired Liza to make my wedding dress, and I could not have been happier with the end result. She worked extremely hard to make sure everything was perfect. She truly went above and beyond for me even seeing me a week before my wedding to make last minute adjustments. She was easy to work with and I enjoyed all the fittings as it meant spending time with such a lovely person! Thank Liza!!

Liza is an absolute miracle worker! I wanted to rework my mom's wedding dress for my own wedding, and luckily I found Liza to bring my vision to life, and make it even better than what I was imagining. She worked with me to transform the dress into something completely new and different, that felt like me, but used all of the most beautiful parts of my mom's dress in a way that honoured its original form. Liza paid close attention to every last detail to make sure everything was perfect. She is a true artist. Liza made the most beautiful custom wedding dress for me and it turned out even more beautiful than I could of imagined. I did not want a typical wedding dress nor the experience of being overwhelmed and searching for something that was exactly what I wanted. The entire experience was amazing and she really brought my vision to life by working with me to incorporate everything that I wanted into the design. Liza did a magical job creating my wedding dress! Every step along the way she was brilliant, from picking fabrics (slightly purple instead of plain white and non symmetrical lace work) to custom designing something unique to my taste and even changing details on the fly. (I love the sleeves! Which also double as a bustle!)Liza was also very conscious of working with me to stick to my budget. I felt like she was 100% considerate of every part of the process.We had to postpone our wedding until next year but I can't wait to get a chance to wear my fairy tale gown.Finally got the chance to wear my beautiful dress, after postponing for a year and it was enchanting! I was so happy and comfortable in my gown and everyone was raving about the sleeves!

Liza is an absolutely amazing seamstress, who took on my project despite it not being the most unique or creative of requests.We had some miscommunication when we first connected, which actually left me worried I would not find a seamstress for my dress in time for my event, but it was 100% worth the wait for when Liza started work on my dress.She takes great care in the material she chooses, has unrivaled attention to detail and made the dress even better than I envisioned! My request was a more simple one, but her other works speak for themselves, and even a less complicated design still had small details that made the dress perfect on me.She also nailed the measurements, and only had to make a couple of adjustments during my fittings. I am rather short and petite, and my proportions can make things tricky to fit on me. Many other places I've gone for fittings (though not for a custom dress) would have to keep adjusting the materials on me constantly.She is friendly, direct, and very welcoming. I never felt uncomfortable in her studio, and she was very patient and knowledgeable as I asked questions. I highly recommend; thank you again for everything Liza!

Working with Liza on my 1950s-inspired wedding dress was a breeze. From the first (and only!) sketch, I knew I had found the right person. We were on the same wavelength: she suggested a red petticoat before I even mentioned that was what I had in mind; although my inspo had polka dot tulle, I had started looking for some tulle with a daisy pattern, and before I even told her, she sent me a picture of the perfect fabric. Countless vendors and guests praised the dress.I had also told Liza I wanted a dress that would be great for a wedding, but could also be reworn for other events, and I have already worn to a fancy Christmas party.I couldn't be happier with how she brought to life the idea I had in my mind.Photo credit: @ericamillerphotography

Look no further, Liza is your woman. I had the most stressful situation last July when I contacted her and she literllay saved my life and of course my dress, making it the most stunning thing I've ever worn. Here is the long story in short version:I wanted to incorporate my mum's 40 years old dress into my 2 pieces dress but I trusted the wrong person... that person took $1000 of me and did nothing in 8 months but a horrible design with cheap materials and wrong finishes... , and after I called Liza in tears and completely desperate, she magically, from scracth, had my dress ready in under 2 weeks (as I was flying to Spain for my wedding). We went for fabric shopping together, I chose the most expensive silk and it wasn't even that much money at all! (around CAD400 for the whole dress, for the fabric). Then she, very professionally, read me, my style, my way, and created this.(The 3/4 sleeve is hand made from Spain but I'm 100% sure she would have done it if I had more time!)Thanks again Liza, can't stop recommending you. :)

Liza is a phenomenal seamstress and a true artist. I came to her with a complex and highly detailed wedding dress design - she made my dress true to my vision and greater than I could have dreamed. She listens to and honours the wants and needs of her clientele. The fabric she sources and uses is very high quality.
